Barbara’s Harkness’ I Am a Ten-Minute Play has been accepted for the May 2010 Stone Soups's Playwrights Festival in Seattle Washington.  The staged reading of the play launched 2009-2010 CPI New Voices Series.

Angela's one act One Freaky Afternoon in the Office Lunchroom, CPI's New Voices 2008, was produced and performed by Village Players in November, 2009, at Morehead State University as part of the Kentucky Theatre Association conference. www.villageplayers.biz. Angela was also the Directed.

Congratulations to Herb DuVal

Herb was back with his new theater venue, PLAY with your LUNCH, at the Wyoming Civic Center, in Wyoming, Ohio, in November, 2009. Herb produced and directed staged readings of new and old short plays, featuring professional actors. Comedies by Thornton Wilder, James Thurber, Frank Gilroy and Fred Stroppel.  www.RisingPhoenixTheatre.org.

2 of Kalman's new short plays, Hell on I-71 and Cicadas on Us, were staged read on September 3, 2009, at Eden Park's Seasongood Pavilion (5:30 PM), as part of Pre-Show series under the banner "From CPI to Shakespeare." The staged readings were followed by Cincinnati Outdoor Shakespeare's performance of As You Like It by William Shakespeare.

Renee’s musical Non-Vertical Girl (starring, Renee) was staged at the Monmouth Theater ( 636 Monmouth Street Newport, KY 41071) in September 2009. The musical has been selected as a part ofthe 2009/10 Artists on Tour program of the Cincinnati Arts Association. The musical was also staged April 17, 2009 at The Clubhouse at Harrod's Landing Yacht Club and Marina 8804 US Highway 42 Prospect, KY 40059. A powerful, quirky, and upbeat musical about the world of physical disability. It's a story about rolling with the punches and thinking on your wheels. Vivian just published her 3rd book called Let Freedom Sing: Of 19th Century Americans - An Historical Novel or Could it be a Musical? published by Outskiert Press, Inc. Herb won the second place at 2009 Cincinnati Directors’ Competition for directing his own play Summer Cabin. The Cincinnati Directors Competition was presented by New Edgecliff Theatre.

Congratulations to Alan Jozwiak

Alan received a City of Cincinnati Individual Artist Grant to write and produce Only When I Bleed. He chronicles the experiences of members of a support group as they struggle to come to terms with their desire to inflict self-harm by cutting themselves. The play was staged at the Madisonville Arts Center (MAC) in February 2009.

Nancy's short play Images of Lincoln was included in February 2009 in The Honest Abe 23-Minute Play Festival at Bunbury Theater in Louisville, KY ( www.bunburytheatre.org ). Arnie’s Blue Chip Players ( http://www.bluechipplayers.net presented Arthur Miller's The Price. Performances were in November 2008 at the new theater, Madisonville Arts Center (MAC). Arnie also played the role of Gregory Solomon.

Congratulations to Roger Collins

Roger’s Play Pomp and Circumstances was selected for a staged reading at the 2008 Cincinnati New Light Festival at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, Rehearsal Hall. The play was also selected in Indiana as a finalist for the Bloomington Playwrights Project 2007/2008 Reva Playwriting Contest. It was also selected for a staged reading at the 9th Annual Juneteenth Jamboree of New Plays (June 2008, Louisville, KY).  Produced by Juneteenth Legacy Theatre, and hosted by Actors Theatre, Louisville, KY.

Nancy’s play Bernice Sizemore's 70th Birthday was included in the 2008 Cincinnati New Light Festival at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, Rehearsal Hall. Earlier, this play was selected for a staged reading, April 26, during Kentucky Repertory Theatre's annual showcase of new plays by or about Kentuckians.

Sandi’s poetry was published The Storyteller (July/August/September 2008 issue).  The Storyteller is an international writers magazine that goes to all 50 states, as well as 17 foreign countries.

Congratulations to Arnie Shayne

Arnie’s Blue Chip Players ( http://www.bluechipplayers.net ) produced the Cincinnati area premiere of Address Unknown, a riveting holocaust drama set in Munich and San Francisco, from the best-selling novel by the late Katherine Kressman Taylor at the Monmouth Theatre, Newport, KY (June 2008). Arnie Shayne co-starred. At the same time Arnie also produced Phil Pardise's drama Footprints of the Polar Bear.

Congratulations to Alan Jozwiak

Alan’s ten-minute play set on the Staten Island Ferry was recently part of the Scenes from Staten Island ’08, at Sundog Theatre in Staten Island, New York.

Congratulations to Arnie Shayne

Arnie won the Grand Prize at 2008 Cincinnati Directors’ Competition for directing Footprints of the Polar Bear (written by Phil Paradise, past CPI President).  Blue Chip Players produced the play.  The Cincinnati Directors Competition was presented by New Edgecliff Theatre.

Soon after, Arnie acted in a staged reading of a new play Flutterbies by Frank Christopher, at the Producers Club in the Big Apple.  Arnie played a 110-year-old grandfather with a sharp mind, and a foul mouth.

Denise sold her young adult novel, entitled House of Wacks, to the Climbing Rose line of Wild Rose Press. www.thewildrosepress.com. The release date is August 14, 2009.
